Among human resources, compensation, and benefits executives within corporate America, rising prescription benefits costs are seen as being caused by
  • Direct to consumer advertising,
  • and inflation
Corporate executives believe that the most likely solutions center.
  • Tiered co-payment levels or higher co-payment levels
  • Mail order prescription service
  • Patient education
Over three quarters of respondents feel that a member's co-pay should be 20% or less.

Corporate leaders are evenly split on government involvement.

Those who are opposed to government involvement primarily have a negative view of the government.

Those who are in favor of government involvement, feel that the government has to do something to help with research costs, control prices and rein in pharmaceutical companies.
